This project aims to improve the living conditions of the rural population in Guaviare.

Implementation period
From 12/Jun/2018 To 21/Sep/2022

General Description

The project contributes to improving the living conditions of the rural population in Guaviare, within the framework of the implementation of the Macarena-Guaviare Development Program with a Territorial Approach (PDET).

The project has a differentiated approach, thus supporting initiatives for vulnerable social groups such as women, youth, ex-combatants, and indigenous people. The project improves the economic situation and well-being of the participating communities by making changes in their production systems, and preserving their natural environment and resources. Thus, it strengthens food security and individual and organizational capacities, under an inclusive and participatory approach.

At the institutional level, the project strengthens the capacities of Guaviare’s departmental government and the CDA in regional planning, environmental education, and supports Regional Renewal Agency’s (ART) projects in the framework of the Macarena-Guaviare PDET.

The project is implemented by ONF International, through its affiliated in Colombia ONF Andina, in association with Alquería, Fundación Éxito, Action Against Hunger (ACH), and Guaviare’s departmental government.

It transfers the experience and specialized knowledge of the ONF in climate change, forest operation, territorial management and sustainable development.

To point 3.2: The project supports the collective reincorporation process of ex-combatants in Macarena-Guaviare PDET through the implementation of sustainable production systems and promotion of participation. It capitalizes the EU experience in the New Territories of Peace Program, by building social cohesion, vision of the future and culture of peace.
